The Wisdom of Mind Foundation aims to support scientific research for the benefit of human being serving social life or affeccted by -or at risk of suffering from any neurological disorder. The foundation abides to a single steering principle: the advancement of people’s wellbeing through the facilitation of communication and collaboration among scientists, physicians, families and humanitarian supporters and advocates across the world. In recent years, research has advanced the understanding of how the brain works. While, with this new knowledge, neurologists are finding new treatments and cures for neurological diseases; there is still a gross mismatch between the need and the available trained manpower and infrastructural facilities that are posing challenges to health planners for providing neurological care to the community.Over the years there is proven increase in neurological disorders in India and people with these diseases are underserved and their diseases understudied. Their treatments are expensive to the extent that they strain economical resources, often leaving patients without advocate for their cause. We believe that the best way to support them is through awareness and research.

Traversing through the period from childhood to old age, the Foundation’s research focus includes major neurological disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression and attention deficit , hyperactivity disorder, as well as neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, dementia, epilepsy and sleep disorders.Additionally, research on the developing nervous system would advance our understanding of the brain, the mind and their diseases, beyond childhood, and across the entire human lifespan. We firmly believe that inclusive and partnership approaches in research and service development can help to meet the needs of both people, who use health care services, and people and organisations who provide them. The advances gained from research will help in improving the lives of millions of men and women around the world who are living with neurological disorders and we are looking forward towards meaningful collaborations and support to help us reach our goal.
