GANGA YAMUNA ACTION PLAN

Ganga River known as Ganga Mata or Mother Ganges is revered as a goddess whose purity cleanness’ the sins of the faithful and aids the dead on their path toward heaven. In most Hindu families, a vial of water from the Ganga is kept in every house. It is believed that drinking water from the Ganga with one's last breath will take the soul to heaven. The Ganges River, also called Ganga, is a river located in northern India that flows toward the border with Bangladesh. It is the longest river in INDIA and flows for around 1,569 miles (2,525 km) from the Himalayan Mountains to the Bay of Bengal. The river has the second greatest water discharge in the world and its basin is the most heavily populated in the world with over 400 million people living in the basin.

It is an organization based in Lucknow. It got formally registered in 2004.We started our activities with one nonformal education and vocational training center for women, disabled, slums child, orphans in the INDIRA NAGAR Lucknow .
